If you're using EverBee Store to build your website—whether on the default .myeverbee.com subdomain or a custom domain—it's essential to understand that your site won't be automatically indexed by Google. To ensure your site appears in search results, you'll need to manually set up indexing through Google Search Console.
1. Set Up Google Search Console
- Go to Google Search Console.
- Click “Add Property.”
- Choose “URL prefix” (since you don’t own the .myeverbee domain, this is the right option).
* Enter your full site URL, such as https://yourname.myeverbee.com or https://yourcustomdomain.com.
2. Copy the Verification HTML Tag
- Google will give you an HTML tag for verification.
- Copy this tag (don’t worry, you won’t need to code!).
3. Add the Tag to Your EverBee Store
- In your EverBee dashboard, go to Designer > Settings > Advanced.
- Paste the HTML tag into the Header Scripts Manager as a custom script.
- Click on Add.
4. Verify Your Site
- Go back to Google Search Console and click “Verify.”
- If everything’s set up right, Google will confirm your site is verified.
Don't forget to Submit Your Sitemap
When you submit a sitemap, you’re giving Google a direct map of all the pages on your store. This helps Google find and index your products, collections, and content much faster than if it had to discover everything on its own.
- On your website, find your URL (usually something like yourstore.myeverbee.com/sitemap.xml).
- In Google Search Console, go to “Sitemaps” and submit your sitemap URL.
Indexing a Custom Domain
If your domain was already indexed, you don’t need to do anything extra. Google will keep indexing it.
If it’s a new domain:
- Go to Google Search Console and choose Domain property.
- Verify ownership using DNS records (Google will guide you through this).
- Submit your sitemap as above.
- Your site should start showing up in Google search results in a few days.
Pro Tip: If you mention your store’s URL (whether .myeverbee or custom) in social media bots might find and crawl your site even faster!
